Event 1 – Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night & Festival Launch

7pm – Countdown to begin walk through downtown

Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night is an event held in more than 30 cities around the world. A modern twist on caroling, all ages can enjoy walking through downtown Cambridge with thousands of participants. Over 30 light installations will be illuminated along the route for attendees to enjoy and interact with at your leisure.

The music of Phil Kline will be played through speaker stations on the route. To add to the event, download the music for free to your phone and bring your portal speaker! Phil Kline’s Unsilent Night is an event held in more than 30 cities around the world.

Event 2 – CP Holiday Train

About the CP Holiday Train

The CP Holiday Train annual Food Bank fundraising program takes place at Malcolm Street Station in Cambridge. Entering its 23rd year, the program has raised more than $14.5 million and 4.3 million pounds of food since 1999. Two trains decorated in thousands of Christmas lights travels across Canada and the United States collecting money and food donations at each stop they make.

Each stop includes a live 30 minute concert hosted by CP Rail. Tickets are not available to ride on the train.

The CP Holiday Train is a fundraising event for food banks across Canada and the United States.  Cambridge Celebrates Winterfest partners with the Cambridge Food Bank on this exciting event each year.  Staff and volunteers of the Cambridge Food Bank will be onsite collecting monetary and food donations. All money collected at this event goes directly to the Cambridge Food Bank. A charitable BBQ, popcorn and festive items (ie. hats) will be for sale with all proceeds going to the food bank.

Performances by Lindsay Ell and JoJo Mason at 4:15 to 4:45pm.  You don’t want to miss this talent coming to our City!

Take a walk through the interactive light displays in Central Park during the month of December. Make sure to capture that magical photo moment and share on social media.

Location: Cambridge Centre for the Arts (60 Dickson Street, Cambridge), David Durward Centre (62 Dickson Street, Cambridge) and Civic Square (50 Dickson Street, Cambridge)

This award winning Christmas Market has grown exponentially since its inception in 2012. The Cambridge Christmas Market is located in Ontario Canada and will be your one stop shopping destination for unique gifts, seasonal food and a great shopping atmosphere.

Over 57 local artisans, crafters and makers showcasing their products over two days!

Event 7 – New Year’s Eve Party

Saturday, December 31, 2022 @ 4pm – 8pm (*new start time*)

Location: Hespeler Arena, 640 Ellis Road

Come ring in the New Year with the City of Cambridge with an evening packed with free fun activities for all ages. Activities will take place both on and off the ice, so skates are not required.

What’s happening:

  • Ice skating (Family Rink or Party Rocker’s Rink)
  • Turbo Max (inflatable obstacle course)
  • Games and activities
  • Live entertainment
  • Circus Jonathan 4:30pm, 5:30pm and 6:30pm in Rink 1 (second floor hallway to arena)
  • Tim Holland Student Ventriloquist 5-5:40pm & 7-7:40pm performing in the Beehive Hall
  • Meet Willy Melt
  • Concession stand OPEN

Ice skating:

Wrist bands will be available upon arrival for an hour of a skate time of your choice. Only one skate time is available per family. Doors of the Hespeler Arena will be open at 3:45 pm. Skate sharpening is no longer available at the arena. skating is available on both ice rinks.  The Party Rockers Rink has dimmed lighting and the Family Rink plays Disney Music. Skate aids are permitted on the family rink only. Please remain in the centre of the ice. Aids are not provided, please bring your own if necessary.

Things to Know!

  • Event is free and for all ages
  • Skate sharpening is no longer available at the arena
  • Party Rockers Rink has dimmed lighting
  • The Family Rink plays Disney music
  • Helmets are recommended while skating on the ice rinks
  • Strollers are not permitted on the ice rinks
  • Wristbands hand out begins in the front lobby at 3:45pm
  • Wristband is good for one skate time on one rink only
  • Limit one skate time per person
  • Ice times are limited for the safety of everyone
  • The concession stand will be open
  • Skate aids are permitted on the family rink only. Please remain in the Centre of the ice. Aids are not provided; please bring your own if necessary.
