PRFM Guelph supports local artists, record labels, and resellers of unique vintage goods, such as clothing and jewelry. This edition sees a venue and time change, with the market being held at DSTRCT from 12-4pm on Saturday, December 22nd.
This special-edition Punk Rock Flea Market will have Christmas and winter themed crafts and treats, including a station to make your own upcycled Holiday decor, led by Stephanie Clarke of Steph Sew Sublime. Participation in the scrappy craftalong is by donation, and no pre-registration is required. Stephanie makes iron-on patches for an initiative called #PatchesForPads that helps provide menstrual hygiene products to shelters, food banks, and other community organizations.
Visitors are encouraged to upcycle old clothes or thrift an ugly Christmas sweater rather than buying a new one. Anyone who shows up in their ugly Christmas best will be entered in to a draw for a prize donated by vendors at the flea, as well as from some local businesses.
The event is all-ages and admission is by donation ($2 or a non-perishable food item – to be donated to the food bank and Neighborhood Group food cupboards), and there will be a variety of craft and gift vendors to help you get ready for the Holidays. Drinks are available for purchase from the bar, and there will 15-20 vendors.
