For one night only this deeply moving and intimate solo dance work hits the stage at River Run Centre’s Studio Theatre on Friday October 24, 2025 at 8PM.

Tickets ranging from $10 to $30, are now available, through the River Run Centre Box Office, online at riverrun.ca, by phone at 519-763-3000, or in person (35 Woolwich St.).

About the show:

between me and you is a solo dance work that involves text and gentle audience participation. Engaging with the slippage of time and memory, a conversation between the dancer and the audience begins with the relaying of personal anecdotes and evolves into a physical play of instability, humour, and surprise. Through the moving body, the work touches on the complexities of human understanding and the value of togetherness.

Strauss states:

“The questions I had when beginning this solo remain. They emerged from attempting to understand the experience of someone (I love) who is gradually losing their memory. Asking questions that have no answers has become an important practice; walking into the unknown continues to be one of the most valuable ways to find presence, to navigate relationships with people, space and consequence, and to learn (and relearn) trust of different kinds.”

In playing with how performance is seen/experienced, between me and you reconfigures the roles of audience and performer to deepen connection and self-reflection. between me and you premiered in Toronto in February 2024. The work then toured to Montréal, Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Brasília (Brazil).

This show is the opening performance for both Guelph Dance and River Run Centre’s 2025-26 season of programming. It is part of River Run Centre’s Movement: The Dance Series.

Heidi Strauss is a multi-Dora Award winning choreographer who creates post-immersive, installation,

ambulatory, and site-sensitive works for theatre, non-theatre and digital environments.
