ToastyToes Guelph

Welcome to our third ToastyToes Guelph campaign!! ToastyToes provides new warm socks for those experiencing homelessness or at risk of experiencing homelessness in Guelph.

Through the generosity of our Guelph community, ToastyToes Guelph has collected 15,000+ pairs of socks over the past two campaigns! Socks have been provided to several organizations in Guelph who have distributed them to those in need, including Lakeside HOPE House, Chalmers Community Services Centre, Guelph-Wellington Women in Crisis, Wyndham House, The Drop in Centre, and more!

With COVID-19, the ToastyToes Guelph campaign had to pivot. The need for socks to support those in need is still strong, however the sock collection cannot be done as it has been in previous years due to the pandemic. ToastyToes Guelph is pleased to be partnering with the Guelph Community Foundation (GCF) to collect funds that will be distributed to organizations who support those experiencing or at risk of experiencing homelessness, so that they can purchase new warm socks. While physical socks will not be collected this year, we are collecting financial donations that will be used to purchase much needed socks for those in our community. Eligible financial donations to ToastyToes Guelph will receive a tax receipt through our partnership with the GCF.

Donating the cost of a package of socks, instead of donating the socks themselves, will go a long way in helping ToastyToes Guelph continue providing socks to those who need them. As the days turn colder, it is important that people have warm feet! Clean dry socks reduce health complications, prevent frostbite, reduce bacteria / fungus, reduce skin / nail infections, provide comfort & warmth, and provide sense of self-worth.

Donations to the ToastyToes Guelph Fund (through the Guelph Community Foundation) can be made through https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/52008.
