Tour de Guelph Summary
Tour de Guelph is still on this year in support of Guelph General Hospital and local projects through the Rotary Clubs of Guelph South and Guelph Trillium. People of all ages and ability are invited to dedicate a ride or walk to Tour de Guelph, any time starting Friday, June 4th – Sunday, June 27th, 2021 while following current local and provincial COVID-19 restrictions
Participants can choose one of the 17 BRAND NEW Tour de Guelph routes varying from 5k to 160k, or they can make up a route of their own. It can even be around their own neighborhood. Please pick a route that matches your skill and fitness ability! All routes can be found at www.tourdeguelph.ca, then click the Routes & Info tab.
We are also welcoming those who prefer to ride at home on their bike trainer or stationary bike. We are also welcoming walkers this year!

There is no registration fee! But participants are asked to fundraise a minimum of $25. At the time of registration, an online fundraising page will be created so that participants can safely collect online donations.
Thanks to Harvey’s Restaurants of Guelph, all participants who fundraise a minimum of $25 will receive a Harvey’s coupon for a burger combo after the event.
Participants can fundraise as much as they like to qualify for milestone prizes and top fundraising prizes!
Tour de Guelph 2021 Highlights
Tour de Guelph is now in its eighth year!
In its seven years, Tour de Guelph has welcomed over 2,000 riders and has raised over $550,000 in support of Guelph General Hospital and important projects through the Rotary Clubs of Guelph South and Guelph Trillium.
OUR GOAL: We hope to raise $110,000 this year.
All registrants have an opportunity get their hands on an exclusive Tour de Guelph 2021 cycling jersey. When riders fundraise $300 or more, they will receive a free Jersey. Or, riders can purchase a jersey as part of their registration for $100 in exchange for a $25 charitable tax receipt.
Fundraising Milestone Prizes: This year, all riders will receive a prizes when they reach the following fundraising milestones – $300, $500 and $1,000.
Fundraise $300 – You get a FREE 2021 Jersey!
Fundraise $500 – Also receive a $15 gift card for The Wooly Pub
Fundraise $1,000 or more – Also receive a $50 gift card for Speed River Bicycle
Contest: All riders who raise $1,000 or more will be entered for a chance to win one of the top fundraiser prizes.
And top youth* fundraisers who raise $300 or more will also be entered to win a top youth fundraising prize.
*To qualify as youth, the fundraiser must have been born in 2005 or any year after 2005.

Sunday, June 27th, 2020 – contest deadline, register and raise $300 before the end of the day to be entered to win the Top Youth Fundraise prize.
Community Impact
Over the past seven years, proceeds from Tour de Guelph have funded blood pressure monitors, IV Pumps, an Ultrasound Machine, Respiratory Ventilators, and have also helped fund Interventional Radiology, a new CT Scanner and a new Centralized Cardiac Monitor. All this equipment is essential to the delivery of patient care at Guelph General.
This year, proceeds from Tour de Guelph are needed for the Together, We Care Campaign. This will help the Hospital invest in new patient care equipment and technology by helping fund a new MRI machine.
In addition to supporting the Hospital, every year, many local groups aimed at youth development, family support, and community building are supported by Tour de Guelph proceeds through the Rotary Clubs of Guelph South and Guelph Trillium.
This year, through the Rotary Club of Guelph Trillium, Tour de Guelph proceeds will help support Parkwood Gardens Neighbourhood Group. They provide a variety of community based programs to meet the needs of the families and children in their neighbourhood. They enrich the health and well-being of the families including addressing food insecurity.
Proceeds will also provide financial support to Chalmers Community Services Centre. Their mission is to ensure a world without poverty with communities that are flourishing with dignity and respect with food security for all. They offer a warm and respect place for guests to receive food, clothing and enjoy company and conversation.
Through the Rotary Club of Guelph South, Tour de Guelph proceeds will help support Water First, a program to train indigenous youth as provincially certified water operators in order to maintain a safe drinking water supply for their communities. Their projects with Indigenous communities were initially small but grew quickly. Within a few years, their collaborations accounted for nearly 90% of program resources. Water First dedicated itself exclusively to working with First Nations communities in 2016. They focus on both drinking water and environmental water concerns, as well as water science education for youth.
Proceeds will also support the Portage Ontario, a non-profit organization which operates a residential drug addiction rehabilitation centre for youth. In the therapeutic community environment, residents work through the underlying issues that caused their substance abuse and develop a set of social competencies that will help them deal with the challenges of everyday life without resorting to drug abuse. They develop the self-esteem and confidence to go on to lead healthy, productive, drug-free lives.

About The Foundation of Guelph General Hospital
Every piece of equipment used in the direct care of patients at Guelph General Hospital comes from community support. Equipment as essential as IV pumps, surgical scopes and diagnostic scanners are available at Guelph General Hospital only because of generous financial gifts from within the community.
Since the Foundation’s inception almost 30 years ago, our community has responded generously with close to $60 million in caring donations. Today, our community of donors collectively gives $3 million dollars each year to help support the Hospital.
The Foundation’s current Together, We Care fundraising campaign is the most urgent fundraising campaign yet with a goal of raising $34 million to fund three essential projects: expand Guelph Genera Hospital’s strained Emergency Department and create new space to support better mental health and addictions care, invest in new patient care equipment and technology, and upgrade the Hospital’s Special Care Nursery.
Patient care equipment is not covered by government funding within the province of Ontario, making donors an essential part of our Hospital’s healthcare team. They give our caregivers the tools they need to heal, comfort, and care for patients at Guelph General Hospital.
